I met Gail Dixon when I was working for the resurgence of the Lancashire sub-‐group in ASLI Northwest. When I left the country to pursue post‐graduate studies at Gallaudet University in Washington DC,I passed on that responsibility to Gail confident in her commitment to the interpreting profession and to practicing interpreters.
Gail also agreed to take over a piece of pro bono religious interpreting I'd been doing and demonstrated her dedication not only in respect of the deaf individual, but also to this specialist professional domain.
We meet regularly to encourage each other as colleagues and as friends, we reflect on our practice and attitudes. Our mutually supportive relationship has become something I highly value.
